Jan Brett Author Study

A couple years ago I made this Jan Brett unit. I updated it last year with some new clip art. I love this unit, mostly because Jan Brett is easily one of my favorite authors. I can read her books all day long. When I first started reading her books to my class years ago, I found that her books were perfect for teaching so many skills.   11. I have soooo many favorites, but I think Hedgies surprise has to be one of my favorites! I loved when I actually had a hedgehog to bring in when I read the story!

  14. I love Jan Brett! I was able to meet her in person and listened to her tell what inspires her and even better, got to see her do some of her awesome drawings!!! She is amazingly talented!

  20. i think every teacher loves Jan Brett, but so do my students. They can spot Jan Brett art in a heartbeat as it is so unique. I love all of her books, but my favorite character is Hedgie. My kids love the stuffed Hedgie. But, the Mitten is also right up there at the top.
