My poor, sweet boys are both sick today. :( What. a. long. day. Shawn has his first ear infection. Owen is miserable with a cold. To end our day, Shawn's eardrum burst around dinnertime. I was so scared! I know nothing about medical stuff but I do know blood in the ear is not good. He's fine now and I guess it will heal with these nice little eardrops. Has anyone else experienced this with kids? The positive to the day was that I got a lot of snuggles from my boys. :)
Last weekend I updated my Bear Books Literacy Pack. The bear books by Karma Wilson are some of my favorites to read with Shawn and with my class. Ironically, I was reading Bear Feels Sick to Shawn a bunch this weekend (he loves to read books over and over and I was looking for inspiration to update my pack). Here's a little freebie from this pack. It's fitting for my day today, don't you think?

You should definitely go visit Kelly's blog called Owl Inspire You Creations! She's got some cute clip art. (More animal clip art from her is below.)
I will post more about this unit later this week or next. I'm pressed for time tonight because I have to pump out sub plans. I started this unit with my class yesterday and left some more for my sub to do today. It's a fun little unit! You can click on the picture above for your freebie and the picture below if you want to check out the unit.

Jen from The Teacher's Cauldron also has a great unit for Bear Snores On (another bear book by Karma Wilson). This unit includes fiction and nonfiction activities! She just updated her pack as well. It's great! I use it with my pack so I am set for the next couple of weeks. :) I study bears for science at this time so her unit is perfect.
In other news, I'm SO excited because I won these fabulous fonts from Amanda at Mrs. Richardson's Class blog.
Here is just one of the pictures of the many fabulous fonts. You must go check out the rest! :) Thank you Amanda!
Speaking of winning things... don't forget about my giveaway with Tori from Tori's Teaching Tips . It ends tomorrow. You could win 4 winter-themed packs! Click on picture to enter. :)
I hope your little guys feel better soon. I never had to deal with ear infections when my boys were little -- I would have been scared too with a burst ear drum!
